Louis Dwight
Louis Dwight was a Apart of the Christian ministry and passed out bibles to the criminals in prison. While doing this he realized that the patients were treated very wrongly. Criminals were left in cells with lots of inmates and could get injured, you could get ill and spread diseases, and it was filthy you were unable to cleanse. Dwight thought that he should do something about this, so he created the Auburn system. The Auburn system was where criminals were kept from other criminals and you worked in the day and was silent all night. He tried many times but was often rejected because it was too expensive but eventually accepted and used.
